Planning your central heating installation

Smart heating thermostatic control

A modern boiler and central heating system typically provide on-demand hot water and heating for your household. We can design a hot water and heating system as individual as your home and the household’s usage requirements. To decide what is most suitable for your circumstances our heating engineer will look at two main factors.

Your Property

Whilst there are tried and tested systems, each property comes with its own variations in terms of size and configuration. Our heating engineer will assess your property and the existing hot water and heating facilities to determine what is practical and achievable in terms of a system setup and energy efficiency. In doing so, they will consider:

  • The type of property, size and layout

  • The number of floors and rooms

  • The number of radiators required to sensibly heat the property

  • Hot water usage

  • How many bathrooms/ showers/ ensuites there are.

  • Any utility rooms

Your Household Usage

We will consider the requirements of you household and its day-to-day usage requirements, so as to consider the demands that will be placed on the boiler and the heating system. This will allow us to recommend the most suitable hot water and heating system configuration in order to provide a practical, cost effective and energy efficient setup. In doing so, we will look at:

  • The number of people in the household.

  • Day-to-day usage patterns and requirements for hot water and heating.

  • Periods of high demand, such as running two showers in the morning.

  • Smart technology to make life easier, add comfort and save energy.

How much is a heating system installation?

Once our engineer has assessed your home, and all the factors surrounding your central heating usage, they will then be able to recommend the most suitable boiler and heating system configuration for your specific household’s needs and budget.

We can configure your central heating system to factor-in any additional requirements. This may include creature comforts, such as underfloor heating and heated towel rails, or energy efficiency upgrades such as smart thermostatic controls which will enable you to control and manage your energy usage more effectively.

Get An Obligation Free Quotation

Having agreed on the boiler, system design and any components, we will then be able to provide a full quotation which will include the cost of the boiler and heating system as well as the labour to complete the installation.

Arranging Your Heating Installation

Once you have approved our quotation, we will require a deposit in order to confirm an agreed date in our diary to start work, and to place the order for your boiler and any heating system components and materials.

The Heating Installation Process

On the agreed installation date our Gas Safe heating engineers will begin your boiler and central heating installation. The first task is usually to decommission and remove any of the old heating system. We can then install the pipework and radiators, towel rails, hot water taps and showers. The next stage is your boiler installation, which will include connecting the boiler to the central heating system, thermostatic controls, and other items such as hot water cylinders or tanks and underfloor heating.

Once the whole heating system is connected, we then perform a series of checks. Firstly, we perform a chemical flush to ensure the system is clean and clear. We then test to ensure it is safe to use, performing efficiently, able to power the central heating system and hot water, and meet the requirements of a Gas Safe installation and certification.
