Dealing with plumbing & heating emergencies

1: Safety First
As always, we advise our customers to think of their personal safety first, before giving us a call.
Gas Leaks
Turn off the gas supply and open windows. If the leak is letting out a lot of gas, do not use electrical switches or appliance and vacate the premises.
Water Leaks
Try to control the flow of water with a bucket, or if necessary, turn off the water supply at the stop cock.
Faults & Breakdowns
If your boiler, shower or appliance is not performing properly, turn it off until one of our qualified Gas Safe Registered plumbing and heating engineers arrives.

2: Details
Before you contact us, it is really helpful if you are able to provide useful information about the problem you’re experiencing, as it can give us clues to what is wrong. We can then offer initial advice to keep you safe and minimise any damage until we get there. It also allows us to prepare our plumbing and heating engineer for their arrival at you property.
Here are a few questions to guide you.
- What happened?
- What are the symptoms?
- Is there a leak, a smell of gas or burning?
- Are there any warnings, flashing lights or error codes on the display panel?
- Are there any unusual noises?
- If it is a piece of equipment – please make a note of the manufacturer and model name or number.
In order for us to get to you, we are also going to need your full address and postcode, as well as a contact name and phone number.

Emergency Boiler & Heating Repairs

Emergency Boiler Repairs
A boiler breakdown, a leak or fault can take you by surprise and come at the most inconvenient of times, which is why Pro Plumbing Ltd treat emergency repairs as a priority and offer a 24/7 emergency response service. Once we have spoken to you, we will despatch one of our team of skilled Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating engineers to your property as quickly as possible to deal with the issue.

Boiler Breakdowns
In the event of a boiler fault or breakdown it helps if you can tell us the boiler manufacturer and model name/number. Our boiler engineer will also ask you to provide details of the fault, including any warnings or error codes displayed on the control panel, and to describe the symptoms. This helps us to understand the fault and allows us to offer initial advice over the phone to help you and keep you safe. It also allows us to inform and prepare our heating engineer for their arrival, and any boiler repairs.

Finding the fault
Once our plumbing and heating engineer arrives at your property, they will perform a boiler inspection to identify the fault(s). This typically involves a systematic check of the boiler system components and the associated central heating, thermostatic controls and pipework. After completing the inspection, diagnosing the problem and identifying the fault, our engineer will be able to provide a provisional quote for completing the repairs, including any replacement parts and labour.
